CE marking is a certification mark indicating compliance with health, safety and environmental protection standards for products sold in the European Economic Area (EEA). CE marking is also found on products sold outside the EEA, manufactured or designed for sale in the EEA.

What is CE certification?

CE certification is a process that gives CE marking authority over a product. Ideally, this should start early as a product development phase, as it is good to know some CE requirements development for product safety, user health, and the environment. However, it is possible to issue EC certificates for ready-to-use products. Products that have CE certification must comply with European safety regulations. They can then be freely traded within the European Economic Area (EEA).
